The television game show was originally aired every Thursday evening on NTV in Kenya, and partnering broadcast stations in Uganda and Tanzania. After three successful seasons it was aired in almost every country in Africa.
Contestants on the game show were selected during audition events held all across Africa. Part quiz, part skills – teams of fans would compete against each other to gain a place on the show.
Not every football fan could make it on to the live show. So we created a mobi-game (mobile game) that allowed fans to take each other on using their mobile phones. We created an under-cap quiz that allowed the Guinness Football Challenge to be played in bars for real cash prizes.
Using the data captured from the mobi-game and bar promotions we sent out Hit Squad Crews to bars all over Africa to challenge football fans to show us what they are made of.
